How can you make a difference with and for the YWCA Mohawk Valley?

Get educated

Learn about domestic and sexual violence and the impact on victims and the surrounding community. Learn the warning signs. Get help if you need it. Share information with a friend or neighbor in need and/or connect with our 24-hour confidential hotline.

Educate others
Share information about domestic and sexual violence and about the YWCA Mohawk Valley’s services with those around you. Request and share our brochures and posters. Steer people to our website. Connect with our educators and request a presentation for your club, organization or school.

Speak up
Be part of social change. Don’t tolerate inappropriate comments that are racist, sexist, homophobic or victim blaming. It’s easy to ignore a comment but if we don’t speak up, nothing changes. Take the time to dispute the myth and educate the person. Need support? Call our educators who can give you the tools you need. Or call our hotline – it’s there for those seeking information as well as for those in crisis.

Become a member
Sign up today for a YWCA Mohawk Valley membership, which shows your support of and investment in our critical services. With your help, we can continue to provide advocacy, counseling, support to victims of sexual and domestic violence, emergency and long term shelter to homeless domestic violence victims, residential services to homeless girls, and violence prevention education in schools and colleges throughout Herkimer and Oneida counties.
