The YWCA Mohawk Valley is a nonsectarian membership organization founded in 1885 and incorporated in 1904. We serve more than 17,000 individuals each year throughout Herkimer and Oneida counties in the Mohawk Valley region of New York State.
Our life-changing programs and services are New York state certified and include domestic and sexual violence crisis services, emergency and transitional housing for domestic violence victims, residential services and support for homeless girls ages 16 to 21, and violence prevention education.
We are the provider of sexual violence crisis services in Herkimer County, the only provider of domestic and sexual violence crisis services in Oneida County, the only provider of residential services to non-parenting homeless young women in a 50-mile radius of Utica, NY, the only provider of transitional housing for homeless victims of domestic violence in a five-county region of New York State, and the only organization that provides prevention education regarding child sexual abuse, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault in both Herkimer and Oneida counties.
We are proud to be affiliated with the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world. Across the globe, the YWCA has more than 25 million members in 122 countries, including 2 million members connected to 300 associations in the United States.
